To whom it may concern,
When choosing someone to work on something as personal as our family's home, my wife and I needed to
have faith that the job would be done well, at a fair price, and on a reasonable timetable. In the two
months Tom Schiebout, and the subcontractors of Tomco, spent remodeling our basement and bathrooms, these
requirements were met and exceeded. Tom not only provided good work, he formed a relationship with us,
earning our trust, respect, and recommendation as a superior contractor.
My wife and I own a 1952 rambler in Hopkins, slowly updating its features since we got married. With the
upcoming arrival of our first baby, we decided our home needed major work, including the upstairs bathroom
and the deteriorating downstairs bath/laundry. After assessing our situation, Tom sat down with us and
provided a detailed bid. He took time to explain how and why he came up with his numbers, while answering
any and all questions we had, his thorough and complete style, along with recommendations from past clients,
convinced us that Tomco could do the job.
As the project began, aging wiring and plumbing in our house began to reveal themselves, offering a few
surprises for Tom and his subcontractors. In addition, my wife and I expanded the scope of the project to
include items such as recess lighting and a built-in entertainment center for our basement family room. Tom
took these unexpected items in-stride, again providing detailed explanations of any additional cost incurred.
Tom maintained a constant presence on the project, organizing and maintaining the timeline with expertise and
precision, while always keeping our needs in mind. The dynamic all-purpose duo of Mike and Steve, along with
Tim the electrician, Tim the tile man, Steve the plumber, Cole the taper, and others, became part of our household
and were always pleasant, courteous, and hard-working, willing to go above and beyond to add their own special
touch. The unmistakable pride in their work didn't go unnoticed.
It has been a few months since Tomco completed the project and in the meantime our house has been transformed
into a home for our new little daughter. We thank Tom for helping make this transition easier, and I know our
family will enjoy his team's work for years to come.
